Chilitos Mexican Restaurant in Waterloo

Restaurant dining room was open under state guidelines. Food was good, wide variety of menu items. Staff was very attentive and service was quick.

08-19-2019 Around 1900H CDT, iOrdered the best thing on the menu, the grilled steak burrito. I told them to use the same steak as the one in the ribeye & shrimp dish. The burrito I must say, was quite light on the meat, but was pretty filling. I don't know what grade of steak they use.....but, I was expecting it to be more flavorful. The green hot sauce was good. Overall it was fine, but not quite worth the $16 bucks it cost me. That was a bit steep. The gal that took my order was nice. Giving this restaurant a ...🌟 🌟 🌟 ½.

Fun atmosphere Good food

Searching for the best authentic Mexican restaurant in waterloo, let me tell you, the outward appearance didn't have me intrigued. After a couple messages with friends I was convinced to try Chilito's and indulge me when I say, so glad we did. The interior is exceptionally clean, staff was professional and the food had me believing this is the best in the Cedar Valley. The portions are on the large size, seasoning was on point and price was fair for the offering. I had the Carne Asada Tacos and my my wife had Sophia's Special with two balanced margaritas.

Went there last night and loved it! Food was amazing, great margaritas, and our server Tyler was awesome!! Easily my favorite mexican restaurant in town, I will definitely be going back soon!

Food was great when I finally got it. Was close to a 2 hour dinning experience. I asked for chicken and got steak. The waitress asked before serving to me if that was okay. I had already waited close to an hour for a drink and was offered water once, never got, and asked for it twice before I got it. Again, food was great. Less than 3 couples in the entire restaurant at the time as well. Do not visit between the hours of 6 to 8:30

1st time @ Chilito's.. the service was very nice... awesome drinks.. hubby really liked the Apple Daiquiri.. Strawberry Daiquiri was good too... the food was awesome and filling.. had enough for lunch the next day.. WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK.... YUMMY!!

I will never get take out again. I love this place but very disappointed in take out.

After driving by for far too long we decided to stop in and give Chilito's a try.We were pleasantly surprised!The food was very good and a good amount for the price as well.Our server was on top of it from the git-go as well. We'll definitely be back for more visits.

We were passing through on a Tuesday and decided to stop. They were very busy but got a table right away. Waitress came and took our drink orders. Asked for water as well but never got that. She came to take food order and we received that in a timely manner. No silverware or napkins were delivered so we had to ask when someone walked by. The food was really good and large plates. Husband did ask for corn tortillas but was given flour. Because of the few hiccups gave 4 stars instead of 5 but definitely recommend going.

Great food and good service

The service was terrible. We waited 30 min before even being waited on. Our waitress barely checked on us. The food was ok nothing to brag about.

This is our fav Mexican restaurant around. The food is amazing & the Waterloo margarita will have you coming back for more!!! Be patient the service can be a little slow but its worth it.

Service is good. Food is okay. Every dish and side I've had there had lime. The meals, even the fried ones, are very moist... not much crunch. Again, not bad but okay.

Good food, excellent service! We got the 20 min before close and no complaints. They served us quickly and didn't get upset when we were finishing up after closing time. Kept smiling and thanking us for coming in.

Best Mexican Food around. After living in Arizona so many years, it took awhile to find a place that served up food like home. Great food, great service, great owners. ♥
